SIGN UPS UNDERWAY FOR McCREARY "CLEAN SWEEP" CAMPAIGN

Signups for the “Clean Sweep” campaign in McCreary County began this week and will continue through next Friday April 25th. Local residents can sign up to get involved in cleaning up their yard, roadway, or entire neighborhood during the community cleanup weekend which will be Saturday April 26th through Monday April 28th, when the county will pick up filled bags of trash for disposal. Those signing up at the McCreary County Judge Executive’s office to take part will receive trash bags and information and can also attend a free “movie in the park” event being held Saturday April 26th at 8:00pm at the McCreary County Park. Funding cuts this year prevented the Eastern Kentucky PRIDE program from sponsoring spring cleanup activities such as the t-shirt design contest, Cumberland Falls cleanup and others. PRIDE is instead relying on local communities to put together cleanup efforts, such as the “clean sweep” campaign sponsored by the McCreary County Fiscal Court and 109 Solid Waste Board. For more information call the Judge’s office at 376-2413.
