ELECTION DAY APPROACHES WITH LOCAL RACES ON THE BALLOT
posted 10/09/2012 by wkcarroll@highland.net

Much attention is being paid to this year’s Presidential race, but local races will also appear on the ballot for voters on November 6th. In McCreary County, voters will be asked to select four members of the Soil and Water Conservation Board and voters in three out of five local school board districts will be asked to select their board member. The Truth or Politics program, hosted and moderated by Darlene Price, will hold debates for the candidates running for those offices this month to allow voters the chance to learn more about the candidates and where they stand on important issues. The debate for candidates in the race for Soil and Water Conservation Board will be held Monday October 15th at 6:00pm, while the school board candidates’ debate will be Monday October 22nd at 6:00pm. Both will be held in front of a live audience at the Senior Citizens’ Center at the McCreary County Park with participants asked to arrive by 5:15pm to prepare for the program, which will air live on WHAY Radio 98.3FM. Potential voters are reminded that today is the deadline to file to vote in the November election, if you are not already registered. For information on your voter registration status you can visit the McCreary County Clerk’s Office, call 376-2411 or log onto www.mccrearycountyclerk.com.
